Our genealogical interest is rather new, actually. Our older relatives have done much of the research. We felt it was important to continue, while these relatives were still alive to tell us about the old time. Believe me, they have a lot to tell!

Take a look on this web site You will find some quite exciting stories.

Ida and Algot Skoglöf´s Wedding day

I quickly found out that I will never finish this work. One new discovery leads to at least five new questions. How did they live? What kind of food did they eat? Work? Sickness?

Take for example, Göran´s grandmother Ellen, who was the youngest of eight brothers and sisters. All eight where born within an eleven year period. Ellen's mother died when Ellen was just six month old! How did the father manage, with all those kids? School? A lot of questions may never get answered.

This interest has also sparked an interest in Swedish history in general and then of course Gästriklands and Skånes history in particular.

History of brickyard It's an exciting subject because of Görans grandfather was the owner of a brickyard.

Read about Göran´s ancestors, from Villands and Gärds district in Skåne and the district of Västerlövsta in Västmanland.

Anette´s ancestors are from Hille, in Gästrikland, and other villages like, Åbyggeby, Björke, Trödje among others. Grandmother came from Uppland and was born in Muskarbo, Tierp.
